![]() The ball head has been cleverly designed so that even at maximum looseness, there is still some friction there, minimising the chances of accidentally tipping the camera too far when adjusting the angle. Tightening and loosening the knobs is easy and they are ergonomic without being too large. It's easy to flick the Rapid Flip Mechanism switch even with gloves on and there is a reassuring click when the tripod reaches one of the leg angles. Leg sections slide out smoothly and the leg locks are designed to be opened all at once with one hand, allowing you to set the tripod up quickly and easily. The tripod feels sturdy and well built, with nicely damped legs. The torch part of the column can be removed if you wish and a screw on cap to keep the torchless column is included. It's powered by 2xAAA batteries which are included.
